Let the Bible Speak TV Program

Let the Bible Speak (LTBS) is a weekly television program that broadcasts throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and NE Wisconsin. LTBS airs on WLUC-TV6 every Sunday morning at 10am EST. ​Let the Bible Speak began in March 1976 under the direction of Leslie W. Grant and the Escanaba Church of Christ. Les Grant continued on the program for 17 years. During a period of health struggles, Les asked his son Dave to host the program for a few weeks. The response was positive, and Dave hosted the program for another 30 years! Les passed away in October 2009 after 62 years of preaching the Gospel.

 

The program started with the name, Bible Questions/Bible Answers. Each week, a panel would respond to questions from viewers with biblical answers. The name changed after a few years, and so did our format. The viewer responses indicated a strong desire for biblical teaching more than discussion. Thirteen years ago, we began to move away from a panel discussion to one or two teachers each week. Still today, the aim of all of our lessons is to faithfully teach the Bible and keep listeners rooted in the Word of God.

Over the years, Les and Dave had several other ministers assisting them in this ministry: Dan Skaggs, Dan Robinson, Ron Bartanen, Charles James, Keith Cartwright, Bruce Tanner, Al Meakes, Jay Allen, William Huebler, Roger Rhodes, Patrick O'Neal, Jim Larsen, Alex Meredith, and, most recently, Brian Poe. Brian and his wife, Jesse, moved to the UP in 2023 and began working with the Escanaba Church of Christ following Dave's recent retirement.

Currently, Alex, the minister for the Marquette church, is serving as the primary host of the program while Brian serves as a co-host. Escanaba and Marquette are now working together to run the program with the hopes that LTBS may serve the people of the UP for many years to come!

The goal of our program is to bring the good news of Jesus Christ into a hurting world. We encourage our viewers to study the Bible and do what the Lord directs them to do. In a world of religious confusion, the only hope for unity and peace is a return to the only God’s inspired Word.
